6D5N Central Vietnam Hoi An My Son Hue & Da Nang
Day 01 – ARRIVE DA NANG – HOI AN [L/D]Upon arrival at Danang and after lunch (if applicable), head to Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was ranked third among the list of the world’s top 25 cities by Travel & Leisure in 2020. Once a major Asian trading port, Hoi An has retained much of its original form with a well-preserved complex of 1,107 timber frame buildings with brick or wooden walls which include architectural monuments, religious buildings, commercial structures and family houses reflecting a fusion of indigenous and foreign cultures. Attractions in Hoi An include: Fujian Assembly Hall, Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient houses and Hoi An market. The night scene in Hoi An is itself a compelling reason to spend at least a night in this charming town.
Day 02 – HOI AN – MY SON – CAM THANH VILLAGE – HOI AN [B/L/D]
After breakfast, head out for a day trip with the first stop at Vietnam’s “Angkor Wat” – My Son Sanctuary which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. My Son Sanctuary dates from the 4th to the 13th centuries CE during which, and for most of its existence, it was the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom. The remarkable ensemble of monuments of the My Son Sanctuary that were developed over a period of 1,000 years reflecting origins in and the practice of Hinduism are the most important constructions of the My Son civilization. After lunch, continue on to Cam Thanh Coconut Village renowned for its sizeable water coconut forest ecosystem. Whilst fishing is the primary trade of the residents of the village, the village is also known for its handicrafts from coconut trees and bamboos. Enjoy the experience of rowing and controlling a traditional bamboo basket boat as you explore the area on water! Thereafter, return to Hoi An and enjoy its night scene.
Day 03 – HOI AN – HUE [B/L/D]
After breakfast, head to Hue, once the capital of Vietnam and home to the Imperial City complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enroute to Hue, stop to visit the Marble Mountains, a cluster of 5 limestone peaks and home to a network of caves, tunnels and structures including towers, pagodas and shrines built by Buddhists and the Nguyen rulers. At the foot of Marble Mountains is the Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village renowned for its stone craftsmanship and with a history of over 2 centuries. Continue on to the Son Tra Peninsula and Ling Ung Pagoda. After lunch, enroute to Hue, enjoy the scenic views afforded by the renowned coastal Hai Van Pass. Upon arrival in Hue, go on a boat ride on the Perfume River to the Thien Mu (Celestial Lady) Pagoda, a historic 7-storey pagoda that is an iconic symbol of Hue. Free time for shopping at Dong Ba Market this evening.
Day 04 – HUE – DANANG [B/L/D]
After breakfast, head to the Khai Dinh Tomb – the Mausoleum of Emperor Khai Dinh – which is part of the Complex of Hue Monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue on to view the Minh Mang King Tomb, well known for being the most majestic of all the Nguyen Dynasty royal tombs with some 40 structures including palaces, temples and pavilions. After lunch, visit the walled Imperial City complex of Hue from where the rulers of the Nguyen Dynasty governed the country for over a hundred years from the early years of the 19th century. The massive walls of the complex stretch over 10km and within the walls are captivating temples, courts, palaces, gardens and more. Key attractions include: Meridian Gate, To Mieu Temple and Purple Forbidden City.
Day 05 – DANANG – BANA HILLS – DANANG [B/L/D]
After breakfast, head to Bana Hills, a popular theme park and resort located about 1,500m above sea level. Its most famous attraction is probably the Golden Bridge, a beautiful 150m long-arced pedestrian bridge held up by 2 giant stone hands providing the perfect settings for stunning photos. The cable car ride to Bana Hills is itself a remarkable experience – apart from the stunning views, you are riding on a cable car system that holds 4 Guinness World Records including (1) the longest non-stop ride of about 5.8km and (2) the highest altitude difference between departure and destination stations of about 1.4km.
Arriving at Bana Hills resort, enjoy (1) the French village complete with French Gothic-style architecture, French restaurants and cobblestoned streets, (2) the Fantasy Park, a massive indoor amusement park, (3) the outdoor Alpine (roller) Coaster, and (4) other attractions like the temples, pagodas and the Japanese and French gardens.
Return to Danang in the mid afternoon and visit the Love Bridge and Dragon Bridge. More a pier than a bridge, the Love Bridge is so endearingly named thanks to its countless “love locks”! The 666m long 6-lane Dragon Bridge embedded with an iconic giant dragon breathing fire in its middle section spans the Han River connecting Danang International Airport and Danang’s downtown and beaches. Enjoy some free time on your own on My Khe Beach, famous for its fine white sand and probably the most picturesque beach in Vietnam. After dinner, check out the Han Market, a local bazaar hugely popular with both locals and tourists.
Day 06 – DEPART HANOI [B]
After breakfast, time permitting, free time on your own to enjoy the beach and/or do some shopping around Danang City before leaving for the airport for your departure flight.
