Off the southern coast of Singapore are a group of islands – the Southern Islands – whose shores are a showcase, especially in-between tides, of marine biodiversity including, but not limited to, more than 250 varieties of hard corals (constituting 32% of hard corals found worldwide), more than 100 species of coral fishes, about 200 species of sponges, endangered species of seahorses and numerous varieties of seagrasses.
Enjoy the sights of this marine biodiversity in natural settings that is submerged for the better part of each day as you go on an “intertidal” walk (yes, your footwear will certainly get wet!) with our intertidal specialist guides. Nature in its pristineness – and a must for all wildlife and nature buffs.
Among the Southern Islands, Sisters’ Islands, Kusu Island and Lazarus Island are renowned for such “intertidal” treats.
Due to the closure of the only public jetty at Sisters’ Islands for repair works till October 2021 (by Nparks), the “Intertidal Tour” (for this period) will be at either Kusu Island or Lazarus Island – locations that are just as compelling as Sisters’ Islands.
This tour starts and ends at Marina South Pier.
